Terms of Use
Plain-language terms for using ScreenPass. By using the site you agree to these terms — the most important part is understanding what ScreenPass can and can't promise.
Effective June 10, 2026
What ScreenPass is
ScreenPass analyzes the style of writing you provide and produces an AI-risk score, a sentence-by-sentence explanation, and an optional proof-of-authorship defense report. It is a tool to help you understand and defend your own writing. It does not rewrite your text, and it is not a way to pass AI-generated writing off as your own. Nor does it determine whether any particular text was actually written by a human or a machine.
No guarantee of results
AI detection is probabilistic and imperfect. ScreenPass does not guarantee the verdict of any detector (such as Turnitin, GPTZero, or others), does not guarantee that your writing will or won't be flagged by any third party, and does not guarantee any specific outcome in an academic-integrity process, appeal, or other dispute. The score and report are estimates and explanations to help you, not a definitive judgment.
Not legal or academic advice
The defense report and everything on this site are provided for informational purposes only. They are not legal advice, and using ScreenPass does not create any professional relationship. For decisions with serious consequences, consult an appropriate adviser at your institution or a qualified professional.
Acceptable use
You agree to use ScreenPass only for lawful purposes and only on writing you have the right to submit. You agree not to:
- misrepresent authorship or use the service to commit or conceal academic dishonesty;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service;
- submit content you do not have the right to share.
Your content
You keep all rights to the writing you paste. As described in our Privacy Policy, we don't store that text — it's analyzed to produce your result and then discarded. You're responsible for the content you submit.
Pricing & Pro
The core check and a defense report are currently free. ScreenPass Pro is described on our Pricing page and is not yet available for purchase. Joining the Pro waitlist does not create a payment obligation, and you will not be charged unless and until you explicitly sign up for a paid plan in the future.
Service “as is”
ScreenPass is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ScreenPass and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any outcome of an academic, professional, or legal process, arising from your use of the service. Your use of ScreenPass is at your own discretion and risk.
Independence
ScreenPass is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any AI-detection provider or educational institution.
Changes & contact
We may update these terms as the service evolves; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Questions? Email support@draftlabs.org.
