Privacy Policy
ScreenPass is built around a simple promise: we don't store the writing you paste, and we only collect what we need to send you a result. Here's exactly what that means.
Effective June 10, 2026
The short version
- We don't store the text you paste. It's analyzed to produce your result, then discarded.
- We collect your email when you choose to unlock a defense report, continue past your daily free-check limit, or join the Pro waitlist.
- We use product analytics to understand how the site is used.
- We don't sell your data, ever.
The writing you paste
When you run a check, your text is sent to our analysis providers to generate your AI-risk score and, if you unlock it, your defense report. ScreenPass does not save the text to our database and does not retain it after your result is produced. Because the analysis happens through third-party AI providers (see below), your text is processed by them under their own terms solely to produce your result — it is not used by ScreenPass for any other purpose.
What we collect
- Your email address — when you unlock a defense report, continue past your daily free-check limit, or join the Pro waitlist. We use it to send your report and to contact you about ScreenPass.
- Account credentials (optional) — if you create an account, your email and a password are handled by our authentication provider (Supabase Auth). We never see or store your password in plain text.
- Usage analytics— events about how pages and features are used (for example, that a check was run or a report was unlocked). These are pseudonymous until you give us your email; after that, they're linked to your email so we can understand your journey.
- Basic technical data your browser sends to any website, such as approximate region and device type, handled by our hosting and analytics providers.
Creating an account is optional — the free check works without one. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Service providers
We rely on a small set of trusted providers to run ScreenPass:
- MiniMax — analyzes your pasted text to generate the free AI-risk check.
- Google (Gemini API) — generates the proof-of-authorship defense report.
- Supabase — securely stores the emails we collect and manages optional accounts.
- Resend — delivers your defense report and any emails we send.
- PostHog — product analytics.
- Vercel — hosts and serves the website.
Each provider processes data under its own privacy terms and only as needed to run ScreenPass.
Cookies & local storage
ScreenPass uses your browser's local storage to remember small things on your device — for example, that you've already unlocked a report, and a per-day count of your free checks so we know when to offer the email prompt. Our analytics provider may set cookies or similar identifiers. We don't use advertising trackers on the site itself.
Your choices
- You can use the free check without giving us your email at all.
- You can ask us to delete your email and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@draftlabs.org.
- You can clear your browser's local storage to reset the on-device data described above.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy as ScreenPass evolves; we'll revise the effective date above when we do. Questions or requests? Email support@draftlabs.org.
